Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde Opens Up on Confidence Struggles After Emergency Surgery

Date:

Renowned Nigerian actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has shared how a recent emergency surgery impacted her self-confidence.

In a heartfelt Instagram post on Saturday, the Nollywood star reflected on the changes to her body following a gallbladder removal surgery late last year.

Omotola, who had previously opened up about her battle with a life-threatening illness in November 2024, revealed that the surgery left her with scars, making her more self-conscious about her once “perfect” tummy.

*”Late last 2024, I had emergency surgery. My tummy is one of the best parts of my body, but it is not so perfect now,”* she admitted.

The actress shared a moment of vulnerability during a photoshoot, recalling how she instinctively grabbed her top and heard a small voice say, *”There is nothing to show anymore.”* However, she quickly dismissed the thought.

*”Not me! What will shake my confidence has not been created. I smiled and danced. I’m alive, it’s just scars. Some people’s scars are physical, while some are emotional.”*

Her post has since resonated with fans, inspiring conversations about self-love and resilience in the face of life’s challenges.
