NNPCL, SNEPCo Donate Medical Equipment for 10,000 Free Surgeries and Treatments

Date:

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo) have donated medical equipment to the Benjamin Olowojebutu Foundation (BOF) to support free surgeries and dental procedures for thousands of Nigerians.

The donation will enable 5,000 fibroid and hernia surgeries, as well as dental treatments for another 5,000 individuals in underserved communities across the South-West, North-Central, and South-South regions.

SNEPCo Managing Director Ronald Adams, represented by Health Manager Dr. Ajike Oladoyin, described the initiative as part of the company’s commitment to improving healthcare access in Nigeria. Similarly, Chief Upstream Investment Officer of NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services, Oluwaseyi Omotowa, represented by Deputy External Relations Manager Edith Lawson, emphasized NNPCL’s dedication to corporate social responsibility.

“This donation is a testament to our commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery in Nigeria,” Omotowa said. “It aligns with our broader objective of fostering sustainable development and empowering communities.”

BOF founder, Dr. Benjamin Olowojebutu, expressed gratitude for the support, noting that it will aid medical outreaches in Kwara, Ekiti, Ebonyi, and Bayelsa states.

The NNPC-SNEPCo partnership has also facilitated other social investments, including support for internally displaced persons, reconstruction of hospital wards and schools, scholarships, and donations of cancer treatment equipment. In August 2023, over 6,000 people benefited from the NNPC-SNEPCo Vision First eye care outreach in Lagos.
