Anambra Government to Prosecute Fake Pastors, Prophets Enabling Crime

Date:

Anambra State government has announced plans to arrest and prosecute fake pastors and prophets who facilitate crime and criminality through their practices.

The Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor, disclosed this during an exclusive interview with the Anambra Broadcasting Service in his office in Awka.

Dr Mefor said the government is determined to sanitize religious practices in the state and flush out fake practitioners in both Christian and traditional worship. He noted that the move aims to reposition society and restore moral values that have been neglected by the present generation.

He identified the sale of healing water and oils, fake prophecies, and false miracles as some of the dubious activities that promote crime and quick wealth, which the government will focus on.

The commissioner emphasized that the Anambra State Homeland Security Law will not spare anyone involved in crime or enabling criminal activities, regardless of the guise under which they operate.
