Five Teams Advance to FA Cup Quarter-Finals

Date:

At least five teams have secured their spots in this season’s FA Cup quarter-finals following weekend matches.

Aston Villa became the first team to qualify on Friday night with a 2-0 victory over Cardiff City, courtesy of a brace from on-loan forward Marco Asensio, marking their first last-eight appearance in 10 years.

Crystal Palace eased past Millwall 3-1 on Saturday, while Manchester City overcame Plymouth Argyle 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium, with Nico O’Reilly scoring twice and Kevin De Bruyne sealing the win.

Bournemouth edged Wolverhampton Wanderers through a penalty shoot-out after a 1-1 draw in 120 minutes, reaching the quarter-finals for only the third time in their history.

Preston North End also advanced after defeating Burnley 3-0.
