Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has called on members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council, to collaborate with the government in enlightening citizens on the development programmes of the Soludo administration.
Mrs. Soludo made the appeal during a courtesy visit by the Dr. Odogwu Emeka Odogwu-led NUJ executive at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.
She urged journalists to balance their roles as information disseminators and societal watchdogs to ensure the public is well-informed on government policies and programmes. She also pledged to strengthen the relationship between the administration and the NUJ.
Earlier, Dr. Odogwu commended Mrs. Soludo for championing homestead farming, promoting healthy living, and supporting women’s welfare. He noted that the council had honoured her with the titles of “Most Supportive Governor’s Wife” and “Voice of the Voiceless” for her contributions to the less privileged in society.
