Anambra Police Command Introduces Permanent Contact Numbers for Faster Emergency Response

In a move to enhance security and improve police response time, the Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has directed the immediate acquisition of permanent phone numbers for all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) across the state.

The directive, issued on March 7, 2025, during a closed-door meeting with Area Commanders, aims to improve communication between the police and the public, ensuring swift reporting and response to incidents.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the initiative is expected to enhance coordination among security units, streamline communication, and enable faster intervention in emergency situations.

CP Orutugu reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining safety in Anambra State and strengthening the efficiency of the police force in tackling security challenges.
