Tomori Urges FG to Accelerate Reforms to Ease Nigerians’ Hardship

Date:

Former Vice Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, Prof. Oyewale Tomori, has urged the Federal Government to implement effective reforms that will swiftly alleviate the suffering of ordinary Nigerians.

Speaking on Channels Television’s “Inside Sources” with Laolu Akande, Tomori emphasized that Nigerians have shown patience since President Bola Tinubu’s administration introduced the removal of petrol subsidies and the unification of the foreign exchange market 22 months ago.

“We must not think of the immediate but long-term. Where are we going? Where are all these economic policies leading us? If it’s going to be better, then we need to be patient,” Tomori said.

While acknowledging some positive initiatives, he warned that there is a limit to the patience of Nigerians and stressed the need for visible improvements that positively impact people’s lives.

Tomori also called on the government to address security and electricity challenges to create a conducive environment for citizens to thrive. Additionally, he urged state governments to play a more active role in supporting the people.
