Anambra Residents Celebrate Governor Soludo’s Three Years in Office with Thanksgiving

Date:

Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in Awka was packed as people from various backgrounds gathered to express gratitude to God for Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s three-year tenure.

The Pontifical High Mass was led by Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, Peter Cardinal Okpalaeke, with the host Bishop, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor, and Bishop Matthew Hassan-Kukah of Sokoto Diocese in attendance. Other clergy from sister churches, including Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim of the Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, top government officials, traditional rulers, and APGA faithful, also graced the occasion.

In his homily, Bishop Kukah praised Anambra’s development, attributing it to the efforts of past and present governors. He urged Soludo to see public office as a contract with the people, draw inspiration from the church’s teachings, and prioritize those who cannot access government benefits.

Industrialist Sir Emeka Offor commended Soludo for transforming Anambra and making it an investment hub. He called for continued support to help the governor achieve his mission for the state.

Commissioner for Youth Development, Comrade Patrick Agha Mba, lauded Soludo’s administration for empowering the youth through the “I Youth 2 Skills” initiative and described him as “Omeli Ka Okwulu.”

The event featured thanksgiving and other side attractions.
