The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, has confirmed that corps members will begin receiving a new monthly allowance of N77,000 starting in March 2025.

Speaking during an interactive session with corps members at the Wuse and Garki NYSC Zonal Offices in Abuja, General Nafiu assured them that the scheme, in collaboration with the federal government, remains committed to their welfare. He emphasized that their well-being would continue to be a priority.

He urged corps members to remain calm, dedicated, and disciplined while commending them for their service to the nation. He also praised the vision of NYSC’s founding fathers and called for collective support to sustain the scheme’s objectives.

Highlighting the program’s impact, the NYSC DG noted that the scheme fosters national unity by exposing young graduates to diverse cultural values. He reiterated that the management would continue to promote patriotism, discipline, leadership, and teamwork among corps members.

“From March, you will receive N77,000 as your monthly allowance. NYSC keeps accurate records, and I assure you that your payments will be made. The nation and the scheme appreciate your service,” he stated.

A corps member, Zaka Deborah Alheri, speaking on behalf of her colleagues in the Garki Zone, expressed gratitude to the Director General for ensuring the implementation of the increased allowance.
