Mr Macaroni Opens Up on Financial Struggles, Says He Was Scammed and Fell Into Debt

Date:

Popular content creator and actor, Mr Macaroni, has revealed that he suffered financial setbacks in 2021 after falling victim to a scam and a failed investment, which led him into a debt of N500 million.

In a post shared on his X handle on Thursday, he disclosed that he lost all his savings and had to resort to borrowing money to meet his financial obligations. He admitted to being financially reckless and overly generous, which further worsened his situation.

“After I lost all the money I had then, trouble started when I had to borrow money from different sources to settle all pending commitments and fulfill certain responsibilities I have always believed were mine to fulfill,” he wrote. “I make money in millions, so I never thought borrowing money to pay back with interest could ever be a problem. But I got too comfortable and it took me a long time to realize that I was using the money I was earning to pay back interests.”

He revealed that 2024 was both a breakthrough year for his career and one of his most difficult, as he faced over half a billion naira in debt. His situation worsened after he was betrayed by someone he regarded as a close friend.

Despite these challenges, Mr Macaroni stated that he now feels better than he has in the last three years, thanks to the support of family and true friends. He decided to share his experience to encourage others facing similar struggles.
