AMVCA 2025: Organizers Announce Nominations, Nigerian Actors Earn Key Nods

The organisers of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) have unveiled the nominations for the 2025 edition, celebrating outstanding contributions by African filmmakers, actors, and content creators over the past year.

Among the nominees are Nigerian actors Uzor Arukwe, Adedimeji Lateef, and Chioma Chukwuka. Adedimeji Lateef secured a nomination for Best Lead Actor for his role in *Lisabi*, while Uzor Arukwe earned a nod for Best Supporting Actor for *Suspicion*. Chioma Chukwuka was nominated for Best Lead Actress for *Seven Doors*.

The nominations span multiple categories, including Best Digital Content Creator, Best Indigenous Language Films, and key acting awards.

Notable acting nominees include:
– Best Lead Actor: Gideon Okeke (*Tokunbo*), Bucci Franklin (*The Weekend*), Stan Nze (*Suspicion*), and Femi Adebayo (*Seven Doors*).
– Best Lead Actress: Uzoamaka Onuoha (*Agemo*), Uche Montana (*Thin Line*), Bimbo Ademoye (*Anikulapo: The Rise of the Spectre*), and Hilda Dokubo (*Wives on Strike 3*).
– Best Supporting Actor: RMD (*Christmas in Lagos*), Gabriel Afolayan (*Inside Life*), and Femi Jacobs (*Freedom Way*).
– Best Supporting Actress: Ireti Doyle (*All’s Fair in Love*), Mercy Aigbe (*Farmer’s Bride*), and Omoni Oboli (*Wives on Strike 3*).

The 2025 AMVCA promises to be a celebration of African storytelling excellence, with a strong lineup of nominees across various genres and categories.
