Activist Juddie Osas has strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, over her involvement in state political issues. Osas stated plainly that the position of the First Lady has no power under the law.
The sharp criticism came after an apparent clash or issue between the First Lady and an elected state Governor.
Osas argued that Mrs. Tinubu was acting beyond her non-elected role. He stressed the difference between her position and that of a Governor, who was chosen directly by the people.
In a public statement, Osas declared:
“Your aide could have passed the information. You were not elected and your office is not recognized by the constitution neither does it have any legislated or executive power. You are just the President’s wife. The Governor was elected by the state”
The activist’s comment questioned the First Lady’s authority and highlighted that the Governor holds power because they were directly “elected by the state.” This is a status Mrs. Tinubu does not share.
