Troll Apologises To Simi And Adekunle Gold After Outrageous Post

Date:

A social media user has issued an apology after sparking outrage with a highly insensitive comment directed at Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, involving her young daughter.

The user, identified on X as @boutmoney112, shared a disturbing post on December 20, 2025, which quickly drew backlash from Nigerians online. In the tweet, he made inappropriate remarks about Simi’s age and cruelly speculated about the possibility of harm coming to her only child, whom she shares with fellow musician Adekunle Gold.

The post, which included photos of Simi and her five-year-old daughter, Adejare Kosoko fondly called Deja was widely condemned for being offensive and heartless. Many social media users described the comment as vile and unacceptable, with some urging authorities to take action under Nigeria’s Cybercrimes Act, citing cyberbullying and harassment.

Simi and Adekunle Gold have been married since 2019 and welcomed their daughter in 2020. The singer, who is well known for songs such as Joromi, has often kept her family life relatively private.

Following the intense criticism, @boutmoney112 reversed course the next day. On December 21, 2025, he posted a public apology addressed to both Simi and Adekunle Gold, admitting that his comment was wrong and describing his actions as foolish. He expressed regret and asked the couple to forgive him, promising not to repeat such behavior.

However, the apology was met with mixed reactions, as many users pointed out that the original offensive post was still visible on his page, casting doubt on the sincerity of his remorse.

As of December 22, 2025, neither Simi nor Adekunle Gold has made any public statement regarding the incident.
