‘A Disgraced Nation”- Trump Criticizes Nigeria’s Handling Of Insurgency

Date:

Former U.S. President Donald Trump escalated his criticism of Nigeria on Friday, calling the country “a disgrace” as he repeated accusations that the government has failed to protect Christian communities from extremist attacks.

His remarks followed earlier claims in which he listed Nigeria among nations of special concern, alleging widespread and severe persecution of Christians.

Nigeria’s federal government has consistently rejected these accusations, maintaining that the country upholds religious freedom and tolerance.

Speaking on a conservative radio show, Trump again suggested he might consider deploying U.S. troops against Islamist militants in Nigeria if authorities do not take more decisive steps to prevent violence against Christians.

He asserted that Nigeria has become “a disgraced nation,” claiming that Christians are being killed in large numbers.

He said …

“Nigeria is a disgrace. The whole thing is a disgrace,” Trump said. “They’re killing people by the thousands. It’s a genocide, and I’m really angry about it. And we pay, you know, we give a lot of subsidies to Nigeria. We’re going to end up stopping.”
