Anambra Concludes Training for 11,000 Youths Under 1Youth2Skills Initiative

Date:

The vocational and entrepreneurial training for 11,000 youths under the 1Youth2Skills initiative has concluded across Anambra State, with a call on participants to be good ambassadors of the state.

The Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Aghamba, who inspected various Entrepreneurship Development Institutes, commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for positioning Anambra as a leader in youth empowerment. During visits to training centers in Oko, Isuofia, and Nnewi, he announced that the federal government had recognized the initiative as a key driver of job creation.

Mr. Aghamba praised the coordinating ministries and the ANSEC committee for their dedication to the program’s success. He highlighted that trainees were allowed to select from 33 available courses and received additional entrepreneurial training from UNIZIK Business School to ensure business sustainability.

Some of the beneficiaries, including Chioma Okeke from Awgbu, Isaac Chukwu from Ekwulobia, Celestina Eze from Enugu State, and Nkiru Chukwu from Ebonyi State, expressed their excitement. They stated that the skills acquired had made them self-reliant and that they were already teaching others.

During the inspection, products made by the trainees—such as meat pies, chinchin, cakes, soaps, and leather slippers—were displayed at the Nnewi Entrepreneurship Center.
