Anambra Women Affairs Commissioner Seeks Police Collaboration for International Women’s Day

Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs. Ify Obinabo, has sought collaboration with the police ahead of the forthcoming International Women’s Day celebration.

Mrs. Obinabo made the request during an advocacy visit to the Anambra State Police Command, where she commended the police for their swift actions in curbing rascality in the state. She appealed for the command’s partnership in promoting the welfare and well-being of women.

In response, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, urged women in the state to speak out against killings and illegal activities, emphasizing that their active involvement is vital in addressing societal issues.

The International Women’s Day celebration, themed “Accelerate Action,” is scheduled to hold on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Center, Awka.
