Clerics Urge Christians to Resist Temptation During Lent

Date:

Christian faithful have been advised to remain steadfast in their faith and resist the temptations of Satan during the Lenten season.

The Vicar of Saint Jude’s Church, Isiagu, Awka South Local Government Area, Venerable Silas Ike, gave the warning during a sermon on the first Sunday of Lent. He emphasized that while temptations are inevitable, only those who are deeply rooted in Christ can overcome them through faith, belief, and reverence for God.

Similarly, the Parish Priest of Saint Peter’s Parish, Nkwelle Awka, Reverend Father Donatus Esiegbue, decried the wayward lifestyles of some Christians, describing them as lost and sinful. He urged believers to embrace a life of decency, charity, and prayer, warning that failing to do so could lead to eternal suffering.
