Family Pleads for Help Raising ₦100 Million Ransom As Bandits Kidnap Student in Kogi

Date:

A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to appeal for public assistance after her cousin, a student, was kidnapped by bandits while traveling back to school in Kogi State.

The distressing incident occurred along the notorious Obajana Road. The victim was traveling on an 18-seater commercial bus when armed bandits struck, reportedly abducting everyone on board, including the student.

The lady, identified on X as @nana_hauwa, detailed the crisis in her appeal:

“Yesterday, along Obajana Road in Kogi State, an 18-seater bus heading to school was attacked, and everyone on board was kidnapped, including my husband’s cousin.”

The kidnappers contacted the student’s mother, demanding a ransom of ₦100 million for his release. The family is devastated, especially since the mother is a widow and cannot meet the hefty demand.

@nana_hauwa explained the negotiation breakdown:

“The kidnappers have contacted his mother and are demanding ₦100 million for his release. We tried to negotiate with them, but they said we were not ready and ended the call. She is a widow and has absolutely no means to raise such an amount. We are devastated and racing against time.”

The family is now appealing to the public for financial support, prayers, and sharing the post to raise awareness to help bring the student home safely.
