International Breweries Marks 2025 Water Day, Reaffirms Commitment to Sustainability

International Breweries, a subsidiary of AB InBev, has emphasized the importance of water conservation in its operations and society while celebrating 2025 Water Day with the theme “Glacier Preservation.”

The event took place at King Brewery, Harbour Industrial Layout, Onitsha, bringing together key stakeholders, including local government officials and traditional rulers.

Speaking at the event, Performance and Planning Manager Augustina Okoli highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to water stewardship. She noted that International Breweries has water treatment plants to ensure that water returned to the environment is safe.

Energy and Fluid Specialist Solomon Onuoha delivered a presentation on “Water Usage and Glacier Preservation,” while Voyager Plant Optimization Manager Nna Emeka and Technical Service Manager Damian Oguchukwu explained the brewery’s water treatment process, emphasizing its role in environmental protection.

The event featured a question-and-answer session, a tour of the brewery’s facilities, and the unveiling of its latest brand, “Flying Fish,” by Corporate Affairs Manager Okechukwu Nzeribe. Among the dignitaries present were Onitsha North Mayor Hon. Tony Nweze, Ogbaru Mayor Kenneth Akwuobo, the traditional ruler of Ogbaru, Victor Awogu, and ABS MD/CEO Chris Molokwu.
