NYSC Partners with Wema Bank to Boost Corps Members’ Digital Skills

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced plans to expand its ongoing digital training for corps members and youths across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

NYSC Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, made this known during the groundbreaking ceremony of an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Hub at the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Training Centre in Kagarko, Kaduna State.

General Ahmed expressed appreciation to Wema Bank for its partnership and urged for the project’s swift completion to ensure that beneficiaries can begin to harness its advantages. He also called on corps members and youths to maximize the training centre’s opportunities while ensuring proper maintenance of the facilities.

The project, a collaboration between NYSC and Wema Bank, aims to provide corps members, students, and youths in Kagarko and surrounding communities with improved access to digital skills training.

Speaking at the event, Wema Bank’s Executive Director, Mr. Tunde Mabawonku, emphasized the bank’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurs and empowering corps members to enhance their income-generating potential. He also called for increased public support for NYSC’s initiatives.

The Director of SAED, Mr. Kehinde Aremu, highlighted the importance of the ICT Training Hub in advancing digital literacy among Nigerian youths. Meanwhile, the Chairman of Kagarko Local Government Area, Hon. Mujihideen Abdullahi Umar, commended NYSC and Wema Bank for the initiative, pledging proper utilization and security for the facility once completed.
