Soludo Launches ANAMGIS Initiative, Sets April 26 Deadline for Land Title Recertification

Date:

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has launched the Anambra Geographic Information System (ANAMGIS) initiative to modernize land administration in Anambra State.

The initiative, unveiled at the Anambra State Ministry of Lands headquarters in Awka, is aimed at enhancing efficiency, transparency, and accessibility of land-related data for both the government and the public.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Governor Soludo highlighted the importance of technology in addressing land tenure, registration, and mapping challenges. He urged all land title holders to begin the recertification of their titles before April 26, 2025, as old certificates of occupancy would become invalid after the deadline.

The Commissioner for Lands, Prof. Amucheazi Offornze, described the GIS initiative as a transformative step that would improve service delivery, reduce bureaucratic delays, and promote public engagement in land matters.

The ANAMGIS initiative positions Anambra State as a model for leveraging technology in land administration and sustainable resource management.
