The Student Union Government (SUG) of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has presented an honorary leadership award to Uzodimma Chinedu Maduka in recognition of his leadership and contributions to the students’ union.

The award was given during the SUG Legislative Summit and Awards Ceremony, held at the university auditorium. The event was attended by members of the SUG legislative council and other guests.

During the event, SUG President Samuel Eze urged lawmakers in Anambra State to address the rising cost of rent in Awka, which has significantly affected students. He appealed for legislation to regulate house rents and ease the financial burden on students.

While receiving the award, Maduka, who was also a guest speaker, expressed his appreciation for the recognition, describing it as motivation to continue supporting students. He also highlighted the role of Thinking Entertainment World, a record label he founded, in making a difference in the entertainment industry.

As part of the event, Maduka awarded scholarships to four students who emerged as winners in the Thinking Entertainment World Unizik Got Talent Show, which he organized. The competition featured categories in music, dance, comedy, and beauty pageantry under the Face of TEW contest.

Dignitaries present at the ceremony included Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Education Chairman, Anayo Okpaleke, Honourable Nkechi Ogbuefi, and Chief Val Ozigbo.
