Woman Arraigned in Enugu for Alleged False Property Testimony

Date:

Police detectives in Enugu State have arrested and arraigned a 32-year-old woman, Loveth Helen Alo, over an alleged false testimony in which she claimed ownership of a five-bedroom duplex at WTC Estate, Enugu.

According to the Enugu State Police Command, Alo was arrested on February 1, 2025, following a petition that accused her of misrepresenting the property as hers during a testimony at Zion Prayer Ministry Movement Outreach in Lagos. A viral video showed her claiming that God had blessed her with the house, with images of the property displayed in the church. In another clip, she allegedly stated she bought the house for N200 million.

During police interrogation, she reportedly confessed to making the false claim on her own. She was subsequently arraigned before the Enugu North Magisterial District Court on March 11, 2025, on a five-count charge, including obtaining by false pretence with intent to defraud, defamation of character, and attempting to commit a felony by trying to sell the property.

The court granted her bail and adjourned the case to April 9, 2025, for further hearing.
