Nigeria and Cuba have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in key sectors, including healthcare, trade, investment, and technology. The agreement was formalized on Monday during the visit of Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Parrilla to Nigeria, where he met with his Nigerian counterpart, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar.
Tuggar emphasized the historical ties between both nations, noting their shared cultural heritage and Cuba’s role in supporting Africa’s liberation movements. He described Cuba as part of Nigeria’s diaspora and highlighted the importance of strengthening political and economic relations.
Parrilla expressed deep appreciation for Nigeria’s support, particularly in international matters, and reaffirmed Cuba’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with African nations. He also stressed the potential for expanded bilateral engagement in various fields.
Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties, with the newly signed MoU serving as a framework for deeper collaboration in multiple sectors.
