Governor Oborevwori Urges Real Estate Firms to Lower Rent Costs in Delta

Date:

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on real estate firms to help reduce the rising cost of rent in the state, emphasizing that the current rates are unsustainable for many, especially public service workers.

Speaking at the 13th anniversary and annual convention of Property World Africa Network (PWAN) in Asaba on Monday, the governor, represented by his Chief of Staff, Johnson Erijo, urged real estate companies to find innovative ways to make housing more affordable.

Oborevwori commended PWAN for its contributions to the real estate sector, praising its growth from a modest beginning in 2012 to becoming a major player in Africa’s property market. He acknowledged the company’s role in delivering quality real estate solutions and gaining the trust of clients and investors.

Dr. Obioma Onwumere, PWAN’s Global President and former Group Managing Director, described the firm as an “empowerment industry,” highlighting its commitment to entrepreneurship and job creation. Meanwhile, newly appointed Acting Managing Director, Prof. Julius Oyedemi, pledged to uphold the company’s vision and mission.
