Anambra State Government Launches 2024/2025 Career Day for Secondary Schools

The Anambra State Government has flagged off the 2024/2025 Career Day for secondary schools to guide students in making informed career choices and promote positive values.

The event, organized by the Post Primary Schools Service Commission (PPSSC) in collaboration with the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), took place at Capital City Secondary School, Awka. It attracted students, teachers, principals, and education officers from across the state.

With the theme “Education: A Bedrock for Promoting Positive Values for a Better Society,” the program emphasized the connection between career choices and societal values.

Declaring the event open, the Chairman of PPSSC, Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu, stressed the importance of providing students with the right environment to develop their potential and contribute to national development.

In her lecture, the Chairman of ASUBEB, Dr. Vera Nwadinobi, described the theme as timely and aligned with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s advocacy for a return to core Anambra values.

The Principal of Capital City Secondary School, Mrs. Amaka Anaekwe, highlighted that the event helps students understand that no profession is superior to another.

One of the participants, Olivia Ezeowulu from Loretto Special Science School, Adazi-Nnukwu, who aspires to study Medicine and Surgery, expressed gratitude to the organizers, saying the event would help them choose the right career path.
