Businessman Settles His Five Apprentices With Over N20m Each After Six Years

A powerful video documenting the settlement of five young men by their master, businessman Stephen Ozioko, has captured the hearts of Nigerians, serving as a masterclass in the Igbo Apprenticeship System (Igba Boi).

After six years of dedicated service, the apprentices transitioned from “nwa boys” (apprentices) to independent business owners, receiving a collective sum of ₦106 million to kickstart their ventures.

The Breakdown of the SettlementThe graduated apprentices were rewarded based on their roles and years of commitment, with the figures reflecting the substantial “seed capital” typical of successful settlements:
