Nigerian music star Joeboy suffered a heavy loss after Arsenal defeated Real Madrid 3-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday.
Hours before kick-off, the singer posted a betting slip online with the caption “Cashing out on Arsenal tears tonight!”, staking N3 million on a Madrid victory that could have returned over N10 million.
However, the Gunners stunned the Spanish giants at the Emirates Stadium. Declan Rice scored two stunning free-kicks to put Arsenal ahead before Mikel Merino added a third to seal the dominant win.
The defeat left Joeboy speechless, with the singer posting only “Goodnight” on social media after the match ended.
Arsenal now hold a strong advantage heading into the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu next Wednesday. Before then, Mikel Arteta’s side will face Brentford in the Premier League.
