Date:

The Anambra State Joint Security Team has intensified patrol operations across the state, with a focus on Nnewi and Ihiala, as part of efforts to sustain public safety and encourage normalcy in business activities.

The patrol, conducted on April 7, 2025, included personnel from the Nigeria Police, Nigerian Army (302 Artillery Regiment), Navy, Department of State Security, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Anambra State Vigilante. The exercise featured a convoy of security and armoured vehicles moving across key locations to reassure residents and motivate them to freely pursue their economic activities.

Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, commended residents of Awka and Onitsha, especially members of transport unions and market leaders, for standing against acts that threaten peace and for actively supporting economic revival in the state, particularly on Mondays.

The Commissioner reiterated the commitment of the Police-led Joint Security Force to maintaining law and order, safeguarding lives and property, and fostering economic growth across Anambra.

The statement was issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, from the Anambra State Police Command, Awka.
