Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has declared that she possesses concrete evidence to support her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
The senator made the statement on Saturday while advising Akpabio’s wife, Unoma, to stay away from the controversy, insisting that the allegations were solely against her husband.
The dispute began after Akpoti-Uduaghan rejected a reassigned sitting arrangement in the Senate, which later escalated when she accused Akpabio of victimizing and intimidating her for refusing his sexual advances.
Unoma, in response, dismissed the allegations, accusing the senator of fabricating the claims for personal gain. However, Akpoti-Uduaghan, through her lawyer, Victor Giwa, issued a legal letter on March 1, 2025, urging Unoma to refrain from interfering in the matter.
The letter stated that the senator had sufficient evidence to substantiate her claims and advised Unoma to allow her husband to defend himself.
Meanwhile, Unoma Akpabio has filed a defamation and fundamental rights infringement lawsuit against Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan at the Federal Capital Territory High Court, demanding N350 billion in damages.
