PDP Stakeholders Say Nigerians Won’t Be Forced to Vote APC in 2027

Date:

A group of stakeholders within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that no one can manipulate Nigerians into voting for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential election.

Operating under the aegis of the CP-PDP Conference of Professionals in the PDP (CP-PDP), the group argued that Nigerians would not reward what they described as the hardship imposed by the APC with another term in office.

In a statement signed by its national coordinator, Obinna Nwachukwu, the group insisted that no level of coercion could make the APC win in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), which they described as a stronghold of the opposition.

Their reaction followed President Bola Tinubu’s recent remarks that he accepted a request from FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to remove the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) from the Treasury Single Account (TSA) for political reasons. The group asserted that the APC had no electoral prospects in the FCT.

“With a badly battered economy worsened by poor governance, it is clear that the APC has no chance in the FCT and the 2027 general elections, despite its rigging plots,” the statement read.

They also accused the Tinubu administration of being preoccupied with the 2027 elections rather than addressing governance issues, citing escalating insecurity, economic difficulties, and uncertainty in the country.

The group maintained that Nigerians would not be deceived into supporting the APC in the next election, particularly in the FCT.
