Peggy Ovire Breaks Silence, Calls Taye Arimoro’s N100m Accusations Baseless

Date:

Actress Peggy Ovire has released an official statement through her legal representatives, dismissing actor Taye Arimoro’s N100 million compensation demand and refuting his allegations of assault.

In the statement, Peggy’s lawyers described Taye’s accusations as “misleading, selective, and materially untrue,” insisting he has distorted the actual events.

They explained that Taye was called back to the movie set but returned angrily, allegedly attacking the Production Manager and head-butting Peggy’s driver, which left the driver injured.

According to the legal team, several eyewitnesses have already given statements to the police affirming Taye’s violent outburst.

The statement also claims that Taye attempted to flee afterward, and any effort to hold him back was solely to stop him from escaping before the authorities arrived.

Peggy maintains she never assaulted Taye, noting that the only contact between them happened when she “lightly pushed him” after he allegedly attempted to deflate her car tyres.

Her lawyers rejected Taye’s claims of being mobbed, sustaining a broken jaw, or facing harassment, calling those claims fabricated. They added that the case is currently being handled by both the police and the Actors Guild of Nigeria.

They further dismissed his N100 million demand and hinted at possible legal actions against him for assault, defamation, and disrupting the film production.

Sharing the statement on Instagram, Peggy wrote, “My silence should not be taken for weakness… the truth will unfold.”
