Soludo Administration Reaffirms Support for Private Schools in Anambra

The Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, has reassured private school owners of the state government’s commitment to their welfare and protection against harassment or undue interference.

She gave the assurance during a courtesy visit by the executive members of the Private Education Network of Schools Association of Nigeria (PENSAN) to the Ministry of Education at the State Secretariat Complex in Awka.

According to the Commissioner, Governor Chukwuma Soludo acknowledges the vital contributions of private schools to the state’s education system and remains committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. She emphasized that every child of school age in Anambra belongs to the state, regardless of whether they attend public or private institutions.

She also noted the government’s readiness to work closely with the private education sector and to address any issues related to unauthorized taxation or interference by impostors.

In his remarks, PENSAN Chairman Mr. Christian Nwanosike commended the Soludo administration for creating a more enabling atmosphere for private school operators. He declared the association’s support for the governor’s second-term bid and praised the leadership style of Prof. Chuma-Udeh, describing her as responsive and empathetic in handling matters affecting private educators.

The visit concluded with a group photograph featuring the Commissioner, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Ifeoma Agbaizu, and members of the PENSAN Executive.
