Soludo Sets Up Security Supervisory Committee to Curb Crime in Anambra

Date:

In response to rising security challenges in Anambra State, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has inaugurated a new state security supervisory committee to strengthen safety measures.

The inauguration took place at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, with committee members including the governor or his representative, the Commissioner for Homeland Affairs, the Special Adviser on Security, and representatives from security agencies such as the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). Others in the committee include the chairman of the House of Assembly Committee on Security, the chairman of the State Council of Traditional Rulers, mayors of the 21 local government areas, and legal representatives from the Ministry of Justice.

The move follows growing concerns over insecurity and aims to ensure the proper registration and monitoring of Agunechemba security units while improving overall security coordination across the state.

Governor Soludo stressed the importance of collective efforts in tackling crime and maintaining peace. He stated that the committee would provide a platform for collaboration between government agencies and local communities to enhance public safety.

The event was attended by top security officials, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders.
