Why I No Longer Hire Female Secretaries- Pastor E.A. Adeboye Reveals

Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has explained why he has chosen to stop employing female secretaries.

Speaking to his congregation, Pastor Adeboye revealed that the decision stems from the long hours his work demands, often extending late into the night. To avoid any potential risks associated with being alone with female staff during these late hours, he decided to hire only male secretaries for such duties.

He emphasized that this choice is a personal safety measure and should not be seen as an act of gender discrimination.

The pastor also expressed appreciation for his former female secretaries, praising their dedication and exemplary service throughout the earlier stages of his ministry.

He said …

“From the moment I got to a stage where at night I still have to work, I cease to have a female secretary. Some people think it is gender discrimination. I know myself. I know who I was before Jesus saved my soul. I know the possibility of dangers, being left alone. At night, with people of the opposite sex. Oh, but if you were to get a secretary like the last one I had, she was a wonderful child of God. She saved a very wonderful child of God. She was my secretary at Ebute Meta. Wonderful lady. True child of the living God. And when I got here, I know I will see you in the office at 3 a.m. Now can we imagine, after a long day work, everybody finally we have seen the last visitor. And then my secretary comes and says, At 2 a.m., we are through now, sir. Is there any way I can help you? You know, a cup of tea to relax. At 2 a.m., Jonah…”
