FG Declares March 31, April 1 Public Holidays for Eid-el-Fitr

The Federal Government has declared Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as public holidays to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.

Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement on behalf of the government, congratulating the Muslim community on the successful completion of Ramadan.

A statement by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, urged Muslims to uphold self-discipline, compassion, generosity, and peace. The minister also called for prayers for national peace, stability, and prosperity, encouraging unity across religious and ethnic lines.

He further advised Nigerians to celebrate responsibly and extend kindness to the less privileged in the spirit of the season. On behalf of the government, he wished all Muslim faithful a joyous Eid Mubarak.
